Winter Clove Inn
Things have certainly looked different in terms of travel for us; even though we didn't have the European adventures we expected we have been very fortunate to still be able to explore some local sites. Thanks to our friends at HERTZ & Winter Clove Inn we had the perfect mother/daughter weekend getaway in the Catskills Region of Upstate New York.
Location & Getting There:
Winter Clove Inn is an all inclusive resort located in the Catskills Mountains in upstate New York. This resort sits on 300 acres of private land which offers you endless outdoor opportunities.
Samantha and I packed up our bags and jumped on our rental vehicle courtesy of HERTZ and headed up for the perfect winter escape at Winter Clove Inn which is located just a little under 2 hours from Northern NJ.
Getting there is easy and the views along the way make the journey just as memorable. They offer free on site parking on their private lot; the moment you drive in you will be instantly swept away.
Facilities:
The Winter Clove Inn is a family owned resort and one of the oldest in the Catskills Region; the moment you step inside you are warmly greeted and instantly feel like you are at home.

Our room was the perfect set up with two queen beds, a view overlooking the mountains & our restroom was very spacious.
There aren’t any televisions in the room but that wasn't an issue for us as this gave us a better opportunity to enjoy some quality time and disconnect. WIFI was also available but being up in the mountains can cause spotty service; but again for us it wasn't an issue since during this trip we really wanted to disconnect and enjoy more mother/daughter time.
What we loved the most about the Winter Clove Inn is that once we arrived there was no need for us to step foot outside the property. All meals are included that means you get breakfast, lunch & dinner. Each day the menu varies and the food was delicious….don't forget to save room for some yummy dessert. If you are planning on heading out for the day they can even pack your lunch to go. They also set you up with a designated table which we thought was such a sweet touch.

They also have a nice little lounge space in their Escarpment Lounge, where you can grab a drink and hang out by the fireplace.
If you are looking for other activities outside of the area we highly recommend visiting Katerskills Falls - New York's largest waterfall; it's only a 15 minute drive from the inn.
You also have Hunter Mountain which is about 20 minutes away if you are looking for other skiing & snowboarding trails.
One of our favorite parts of our trip was exploring Artist Falls which is a beautiful waterfall & covered bridge literally a 5 minute walk from the inn. There are various hiking trails you can also explore. We got to admire the falls while it was snowing which felt so magical.
Overall Experience:
From the moment we stepped foot inside the Winter Clove Inn we felt like we were at our home away from home. All the staff ensured that we had a pleasant stay and we felt comfortable and safe during our stay.
Please note that they take several COVID related procedures such as limitations in some of the services; there is no housekeeping during your stay (although they do provide with additional room items, towels etc); they also require you to wear a mask in all common areas and some of the facilities are closed like the fitness center & bowling area.
From the delicious food to the endless options of fun….if you are looking for your next getaway then we highly recommend staying at The Winter Clove Inn where you can discover your happy place in the mountains.
