Puerto Rico

If you are looking for the perfect getaway, look no further. Puerto Rico offers everything from relaxation on the beach to zip lining through the rainforest.

So come and Discover Puerto Rico......

Where to Stay:

We stood in the Condado beach area at the new trendy boutique Serafina Beach Hotel. Just a 5 minute drive to Old San Juan. Serafina is conveniently located right on the beach (although its beachfront Hurricane Maria brought it large rocks which makes it impossible to swim here).

However, you will immediately fall in love with its infinity pool.

The onsite restaurant offers the best french toast EVER! And if you are looking for a fun atmosphere they host the best pool party in town with a live DJ on the weekends.

What To See/Do:

Old San Juan - Immerse yourself in the colorful streets of Old San Juan. I loved walking along the cobblestone streets exploring all the beautiful passages in Old San Juan. Make sure to stop for the best photo ops.

Castillo San Cristobal - take in the beautiful views of the coast line while visiting and taking in all the history in this fort.

La Casa Estrecha - One of the cutest and most Instagrammable homes in Old San Juan. This house is the smallest and most narrow home in the world.  After snapping tons of pics head up the block and make sure to stop at Señor Paleta for the best homemade ice cream!

El Yunque National Rainforest - rent a car and drive about an hour past San Juan. Perfect for an easy hike along the rainforest and you get to see some gorgeous waterfalls. For those looking for more of an adrenaline make sure to look into the El Yunque Forest zip lining tours. You can easily hit the main parts of the rainforest in a few hours.

This gives you enough time to drive to Luquillo Beach. Or if you prefer you can drive closer to Old San Juan and stop at Isla Verde for a relaxing beach day.

Unfortunately due to us only being on the island for only a few days we didn’t get to check off a few other items of our bucket list….but this gives us an excuse to come back.

Some of the things we didn’t get to do:

  • Bioluminescent Tour

  • Day Trip to Ponce

  • Island Hop - taking a catamaran and visiting Culebra & Vieques

  • Bacardi Factory Tour

With so much to see and do no wonder New York Times named it the #1 destination to travel to in 2019!!
