NYC Winter Outing
Whether it’s your first visit or you’ve been here many times before, each visit to New York City is always special. A trip to New York City isn’t cheap BUT that’s why I am happy to announce that NYC & Company will be having their NYC Winter Outing. During this three week event you can score amazing deals on some of NYC's best attractions: Broadway shows, restaurants, and, for the first time, even great hotel deals!
With so much to see and do it can become quite overwhelming to plan the perfect trip. That’s why I put together this weekend itinerary to help you plan the perfect escape to New York City!
Where to stay:
Located in the Midtown East area of New York City on East 44th Street you will find the Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza Hotel. With 439 rooms all with spectacular New York skyline views, this hotel is the perfect hub for your getaway in New York. Getting here is easy; the Millennium Hilton is conveniently located within a short walk to Grand Central Station or, if you are driving, it’s right off the FDR Drive.
On site you will find the Ambassador Grill Restaurant, UN Cafe for quick grab & go items, fitness center, free WIFI in the lobby and meeting rooms.
If you aren't already part of the Hilton Honors Program then make sure to sign up so you can get some amazing perks like free WIFI (if you aren’t a member in room WIFI has a surcharge) and digital check in, among other benefits. Plus the rewards program is free to join!
What I loved the most about the hotel was the spacious room layouts & grand skyline views! The Millennium Hilton is within walking distance to all the popular NYC attractions like Bryant Park, Times Square, Rockefeller Center & Central Park.
Make sure to sign up for the NYC Winter Outing Hotel Week to score discounted room rates to the Millennium Hilton during their Winter Outing Event.
Where to Eat:
During the NYC Winter Outing you can also make reservations at some of New York’s finest restaurants like the Ambassador Grill located inside the Millennium Hilton. During restaurant week they will be having a pre-fix menu for $39!!! Their pre-fix menu includes an appetizer, entree and dessert; that's a deal you can not beat
We got a preview of their Winter Tasting Menu and everything we had was just delicious. They also made some delicious cocktails and the service we experienced was just top notch. Highly recommend making reservations here for dinner.
They also offer a brunch menu which is the perfect way to kick off the day.
What to Do:
What I love the most about New York City is that it has so much to offer for everyone. During the NYC Winter Outing you can score 2-for-1 ticket options (you purchase two tickets for the price of one) for some of New York City’s popular attractions and Broadway shows.
One of my favorite things to do in New York is watching a Broadway Show; there is just something magical about seeing a musical performance live. We checked out Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations. Loved transporting back in time and singing along to some classics like “My Girl”, plus the choreography on the show made me want to get up and dance. During the NYC Winter Outing you can get 2-for-1 tickets to some of Broadway’s many shows.
Another way to get great tickets at a discounted price is purchasing Broadway tickets from Broadway Roulette.
During my stay I finally made my way to the Top of the Rock! This has been high on my bucket list of observation decks to visit and I finally got to cross this off my list. The Top of the Rock offers three levels of indoor & outdoor observation decks that offer spectacular views of New York. My favorite is the third floor deck as this offers the best un-obstructed views of the city. It can get quite windy; so if you are visiting during the winter months make sure to bundle up.
If you are fortunate to visit New York City during the holiday season then you are in for a treat. As the city gets all decked out for the holidays. I love that the Millenium Hilton New York One UN Plaza Hotel is within a short walking distance to some of the most popular attractions.
Here are some of my favorite sites around New York City:
Grand Central Station - 89 East 42nd Street:
Bryant Park - 42nd Street & Fifth Avenue:
Here you can explore the holiday markets, people watch, or, if you feel adventurous, take part in some ice skating.
Then you are going to make your way to 6th Avenue towards Radio City Music Hall. 6th Avenue is all lined up with some giant ornaments & candy canes which are the perfect holiday photo backdrops.
Our last and final stop is Rockefeller Center - Fifth Ave & 49th Street:
Nothing screams Christmas in New York like a trip to see the tree at Rockefeller Center! They also offer ice skating, restaurants, and shops. This holiday season they have a Winter Après x Coach collaboration; for $10 you can get your own private chalet overlooking the tree & ice skating rink. You can end your night with a spectacular holiday light show display on Saks Fifth Avenue Stores.
New York City has so much to offer; I hope this itinerary gives you some ideas on planning the perfect trip. As always before planning your trip make sure to keep up with the latest COVID-19 Travel Requirements. The Hilton family makes sure to go above and beyond to ensure you have a worry-free stay with them.
Thanks to my friends at Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza Hotel for hosting me this weekend. I had the perfect weekend escape and hope this gives you some inspiration for your next trip to New York City!
