Palm trees, crystal blue ocean waters & the best guacamole around….name a better vacation than this...I’ll wait!

This is exactly what is waiting for you at Alea Tulum  by Blue Sky Hotels in Tulum, Mexico; where the sun meets the soul!

Location & Getting There:

Alea Tulum by Blue Sky Hotels is located in the Tankah area which is about 10 minutes from the main area of Tulum. If you are looking for a secluded property right on the beach then this is the right place for you. The resort is about a 2 hour car ride from the Cancun International Airport.

Car rentals in Mexico are inexpensive so if you feel comfortable driving then I recommend this option as transportation can get pretty pricey.  We chose not to rent a car during our trip; for transportation to/from the airport and for tour details hit up my friends at Mois Travel.

Alea offers free use of bicycles which you will see all around the Tulum area; this is a fun way to explore the area; otherwise you can cab it to/from the hotel to the various points of interest.

Facilities:

Right onsite at Alea not only do you have a beautiful pool overlooking the beach but they also offer activities like kayaking & snorkeling. I could have spent my whole time just lounging at the pool or inside the hot tub.

This trip was all about relaxation so the only activity we did was kayaking right in our hotel...this was pretty cool as we had a guide (ask for Luis he is the BEST) and he took us to a great spot where we were able to snorkel and see some cool marine life. He then took us out on his boat where we got to enjoy the breeze and swim in the ocean.

Steps from Alea Hotel there is a cenote - Casa Cenote (entrance is about $7 USD) you can also hire a guide at an extra cost to take you around in kayaks to where you can see the caves and marine life….make sure to say hello to the alligator that lives there - no worries we hear he is friendly! Some other popular cenotes to visit are Gran Cenote, Cenote Calaravera, Cenote Dos Ojos & Cenote Suytun.

Tulum  has an array of  options for all foodies…...even though there are so many amazing restaurants we didn't get to explore a lot of them because we opted to eat most of our meals right at the Alea Tulum Resort. The food there was delicious; breakfast was included but lunch/dinner were a la carte and priced separately.

When you stay at Alea you also have the option to enjoy the amenities of their sister property Mereva located a few steps down the block. There we ate a delicious oven fire pizza.

You can check my Tulum Travel Guide if you are looking to explore outside of the resort.

The hotel itself has various room options depending on your group size; our room was located on the first floor offering direct pool access. Our balcony was the perfect place to catch the beautiful sunrise.

Don't forget to book a massage on the deck; perfect place to relax while listening to the sounds of the water.

They even have a fitness center & indoor spa.

I loved hanging out by the beach & pool area and the fact that you can also enjoy the two other pools over at Mereva.

Overall Experience:

Alea is the perfect place to stay when you are looking to stay close to the action while still having your privacy. With the direct beach access offering you the best water activities, to their delicious menus & great hospitality once you check in you won't want to leave.

Plus since you get access to their sister property you get to enjoy the services and facilities of two great hotels for one great price.
